What is Invisalign®?

The Invisalign® system is a series of removable, custom-fitting aligners that are worn for 22 hours a day, leaving a 2-hour window in which to brush, floss and eat as normal. Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and changed by you, the patient, in the comfort of your own home. Invisalign® is generally used to treat moderate and more serious misalignment, crowding and bite issues. The average treatment time with Invisalign® is between 12 – 18 months.

What to expect from treatment with Invisalign®?

During a consultation appointment, we will examine your smile to assess your suitability for treatment, then take photographs and X-rays of your smile. We also feel it’s important to ask you about what you hope to achieve from treatment, so we can create the most bespoke treatment plan possible and adopt a holistic approach, taking your wider facial features into account. We believe orthodontic treatment goes beyond simply fixing your smile, affecting your whole facial aesthetic; many patients opt to have other treatments alongside Invisalign® as part of a smile makeover, to enhance the effects of what orthodontic intervention can achieve.

We will take impressions of your smile to send away to a specialised Invisalign® laboratory. Your aligners will be custom-made and sent back to us within a couple of weeks. We will invite you back for a fitting appointment, after which your journey to a beautiful smile can begin!
